Service Trip Fundraising
For Our Service Trip to Jamaica 2010
Hello everyone, this is your fundraising coordinator for our service trip to Jamaica! I have put together this packet to help you start your journey of getting the dough for the trip. The cost is $840 not including air fare. (Air fare information is coming from the transportation coordinator soon, if it has not already.) You will need to start immediately, as raising the money will be quite a task on top of your daily routine. I wish the best of luck to you and have faith that each and every one of us can do it. If you have any questions or concerns, or perhaps a hilarious joke, feel free to give me a call or e-mail me.
Ideas!
Inform and Ask: This method is simple, and effective. Inform your meeting of our purpose and ask them nicely is they would care to donate. Be sure to keep track of who donates so you can send them thank-you cards.
Host a Sale: Yard sales, bake sales, selling your art, any of these and many others will do. Be sure to inform the people of your cause.
Old Fashioned Work For It: Save up your earnings/wages. Just a little bit every month will help to contribute.
Grounds for Change: This is a company that I am interested in partnering with. More information will be sent out later about the details.
Where to Start!
Choose a method from above, or one of your own. Talk with your parents or with an adult that you live with and start making preparations. The “Host a Sale” ideas are the ones that take a bit of planning but can also be the one of the most effective.
What Do I Do With The Money!
Keep the money you earn in a safe place! We are working on getting a bank account open for all of us to pool the money into. More information is to come regarding the account. I will use a mason jar covered in Jamaica paraphernalia for my money. I recommend doing so just because it’s a fun project and will help remind you of the amazingness that is to commence come this summer.
Letter Templates!
I have a letter template that will help you tell the prospected donor about our cause and that asks (very politely, of course) to donate. I will be sending these out to people that I know who have donated to other causes in the past.
Passport Reminder!
This is just a friendly reminder to start the process of getting your passport or renewing your existing passport. (Thanks to my Mom for reminding me to remind you.) The process can be quite lengthy so you may want to start that before you do anything else.
